Day of Caring is a fun filled day of hard work, excitement, and neighbors helping neighbors to build and maintain a stronger community. This years Day of Caring is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, 2024! Be safe and stay healthy!
Day of Caring was established in 2006 in Garland County to promote the spirit of volunteerism, increase awareness of local human service organizations, and demonstrate how people working together for the common good can accomplish great things.
Each year, United Way of the Ouachitas brings together approximately 150 dedicated volunteers, community leaders, campaign coordinators, and elected officials who contribute to the outstanding efforts of the campaign, to highlight the results of our program investments.
We match local volunteers in the Ouachita Region to nonprofit organizations and schools to complete tasks such as gardening, general cleaning and repairs, landscaping, painting, and preparing meals. It is THE day to give your time and energy to the area's nonprofits. Participating in Day of Caring promotes workplace unity, builds morale, and shows leadership in the community.
We are excited to be back in 2024 with our amazing kick-off breakfast where volunteers receive a free t-shirt, a hearty breakfast, and are motivated by our short program to go out and make a difference that day!
As a volunteer in United Way’s Day of Caring, we encourage you to join us in spreading our message of service and volunteerism before, during and after the day.
Share photos of your team at work (the messier the better!), post a video showcasing your work, describe your experience and share what the day meant to you. You can help us build awareness of local volunteer opportunities and champion the LIVE UNITED cause.
