Adult Protective Services (Adult Abuse Hotline (800) 482-8049)

Investigations of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, and exploitation of adults who are unable to understand they are at imminent risk of death or serious bodily injury.
Endangered Adults: An adult eighteen (18) years of age or older who is found to be in a situation or condition that poses an imminent risk of death or serious bodily harm to that person. Who demonstrates the lack of capacity to comprehend the nature and consequences of remaining in that situation or condition. A resident eighteen (18) years of age or older of a licensed long-term care facility is found to be in a situation or condition that poses an imminent risk of death or serious bodily harm to that person. Who demonstrates the lack of capacity to comprehend the nature and consequences of remaining in that situation or condition.
Impaired Adults:  A person eighteen (18) years or older who as a result of mental or physical impairment is unable to protect himself or herself from abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, or exploitation and as a consequence is endangered.

American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery

FACE to FACE PROGRAM:  A humanitarian and educational surgical exchange program conducted under the sponsorship of the Educational and Research Foundation for AAFPRS.  In the United States and abroad, AAFPRS surgeons provide complimentary care to those who suffer from facial deformities caused by birth or trauma.  The program offers individuals the opportunity to overcome the physical limitations placed on them by circumstances beyond their control:  deformities at birth, domestic violence, and war.  AAFPRS surgeons use their expertise to perform plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head, and neck.  Referral service to physicians in Arkansas who provide volunteer plastic surgery for victims of domestic violence.

Arkansas Children Hospital (ACH)

Serves children up to age 18.  A division of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry program and part of the UAMS Department of Psychiatry/Psychiatric Research Institute. The Child Therapy Clinic offers brief comprehensive evaluations as well as individual and family therapy. The Psychiatric Care Clinic is the child residency training clinic for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Davison and offers diagnostic evaluations, medical consultation, and treatment. Clark County Health Department offers numerous programs to help families with their needs.  Birth certificates and death certificates are available upon request. WIC, Family Planning, Immunizations, and Maternity.  The WIC program is available to low to moderate-income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5. Family Planning offers annual exams, contraceptives, and pregnancy testing among other programs. Immunizations are offered to children and adolescents along with flu vaccinations. Beehive Thrift Store

The Beehive Store, which operates on tax deductible donations from the public, provides training, employment opportunities and normalization for adults with developmental disabilities.  At the Beehive they learn good work habits including keeping a schedule, following directions, reporting to work on time getting along with co-workers and supervisors, working in the midst of distraction, etc.  Tasks include sorting, pricing, hanging, cleaning stocking, sacking, arranging merchandise and others.

To assist residents of the Bismarck School District who have needs. We provide utility assistance, make refers to the food pantries and assist with clothing needs. Arkansas Apprenticeship Pathways Initiative (AAPI)

Winrock International and Arkansas Department of Workforce Services is associate with the AAPI program.  AAPI seeks to develop and promote Registered Apprenticeship Program around the state. The HVAC Technician is a program that is being offered at National Park College located in Hot Springs. This is a 3 year program that includes 160 classroom hours and 2,000 on-the-job-training hours. Classes meet from 6pm-9pm, 2 nights per week, for a 12 week semester. The cost of the program is $450 per year (billed at $225 per semester). Students may enter the program as a pre-apprentice and earn classroom hours while seeking employment as a HVAC apprentice. To be eligible, individuals must be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma/GED and state ID. Healthy Connections

Healthy Families Arkansas (HFA) program serves pregnant and parenting moms 25 years of age and under.  Services will be provided until the child reaches three years of age and all services are free. Through regular home visits and monthly group meetings HFA staff, strives to empower families to provide a healthy, nurturing environment for their children. HFA is an initiative also help parents get their children off to a healthy start. Participation in HFA services is strictly voluntary.  Healthy Connections can also provide assistance in signing up for health insurance.

Helping Hands Thrift Store

To assist residents of the Bismarck School District who have needs.
